Nastel XRay 1.5
The latest version of Nastel XRay is now available. There are several new features that provide even more value to Nastel customers. A pretty exciting feature is Image Viewlets. These viewlets have at their heart an image of your choosing.
An example of that could be as shown below, a flow diagram taken directly from your application documentation. We annotate this diagram with real time updates from your application data. This complements the existing topology diagram by showing the problem spots directly in a context that your application teams understand.
We can use other images as well. A second example shown is a DevOps process flow. In this case, we are annotating it with data from the underlying build systems to identify where hot spots are.
And a third example, is a map of a region and we can annotate that with real-time weather data. The possibilities are endless as it simply requires an image and some associated data for annotations.
Also new in XRay 1.5 is integration with Slack. This integration can automatically post an update into a Slack channel when an issue is identified. It can also be used from the user interface to record a problematic query or post observations directly. Another social integration is on its way. Let us know what you’d like us to prioritize.
This is just a subset of the features available in XRay 1.5. For the complete list, see the release notes and Nastel XRay 1.5 Highlights.

Nastel Navigator Component Architecture with Port Assignments
This FAQ contains a diagram that shows the typical Nastel Navigator architecture with default ports. The ports are used for communication between components and can all be changed. It also explains the key elements. To see the diagram and explanation see https://customers.nastel.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050734314
How do I audit usage of requests or changes made using Nastel Navigator?
You may want to know if certain actions were performed, such as message requests or starting/stopping channels. Within the Web Security Manager, you can configure which requests you want to be audited. These are written to the audit tables in the database. See this FAQ to better understand how to configure the data audited: https://customers.nastel.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040651214.
Why is the table adtinfo so large?
Related to the previous article, once auditing is active, the data is stored in the database. The table adtinfo is used to store Nastel Navigator audit records. These records are controlled by the settings in the web security audit profile. This FAQ explains both how to control the size of the audit table: https://customers.nastel.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042222314.
